Dr. Kofi Kondwani Recognized for Leadership in Mind-Body Medicine and Community Health

kofi kondwani marquisÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ (MSM) proudly celebrates Dr. Kofi Kondwani, assistant professor in the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, for being honored by for his outstanding contributions to mind-body medicine, community health and preventive medicine. 

 

For more than two decades Dr. Kondwani has been a vital part of the MSM family blending the science of psychophysiology with the power of meditation to teach future healthcare professionals the importance of addressing both physical and mental well-being. His innovative work has advanced approaches to stress reduction, hypertension management and competence in health care — particularly for resource-limited communities. 

 

A dedicated educator since 1999, Dr. Kondwani’s classes weave scientific research with holistic practices equipping students with skills that extend beyond textbooks. His signature technique, Consciously Resting Meditation, has been recognized as a tool to combat stress and promote mental health. Beyond the classroom, his efforts have been acknowledged through awards including a $10,000 grant from Taraji P. Henson’s nonprofit and an upcoming presidential award for community service. 

 

As Dr. Kondwani looks ahead his focus remains clear: empowering communities through meditation, teaching and advocacy. ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ is proud to congratulate Dr. Kondwani on this well-deserved honor and to recognize the legacy of compassion, innovation and service he continues to build.
